China has banned the sale of adult clothing for girls and women, with the authorities blaming childwearing for causing the country’s health problems.
Authorities also banned children from wearing clothing with logos and products from foreign brands such as Macy’s and Chanel.
The ban comes as China’s economy is slowing down, prompting the government to tighten control on adult clothing, which has become an important source of income.
According to a report by the state-run China Daily newspaper, a survey by China Youth News found that more than 80 percent of Chinese parents said they would no longer allow their children to wear adult clothes, while 80 percent said they were worried about the health effects of wearing adult clothes.
