A teenager who was hit by a car while riding his bike in Wyoming died Monday.
Tyler Childw-Eddson, 16, of Pawnee died at a hospital, according to a statement from the state’s Office of Emergency Services.
The vehicle struck the bike in a wooded area at the end of a dirt road near Pawnees River State Park, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Laramie, according the statement from Wyoming Emergency Services spokesman Bill Schoenberger.
Schoenberger said the vehicle struck a tree and was not hit by other vehicles.
The bike was not wearing a helmet.
A trooper who was nearby said he saw the motorcycle crash into the tree.
The trooper was wearing a reflective vest, Schoenberg said.
Childw-edson was transported to a hospital for evaluation, Schennberger said.
